''The Dead arrive in Quintana Roo'' by Jo'Otsuúk

The Tihosuco community theater presents this production where we will be able to understand the tradition of the Day of the Dead celebrations of the people of Jo´otsuuk, located northeast of the state in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The celebration begins much before the day by making decorative objects for the altar and doing general cleaning of the household and patios. In order to welcome the dead, the house must be cleaned and tidied up so the souls will not arrive and do the work and they can enjoy the feast in their honor.

The dead come to party / Oxolotán, Tacotalpa

The rural theater company from Oxolotán, a town in Tabasco border with Guatemala, presents this production where we come to understand the Day of the Dead celebration as the occasion in which the spirits come back to earth to visit the living. The flowers, candles, food, cut paper, skeletons and a wide variety of decorations in the altar are a link between the two worlds.
This theater group, promoted by the Tabasco state government, is a very interesting project that brings the community together in a creative experience with goals that go beyond the merely theatrical; recovering human confidence an dignity through learning certain forms of self-organization and self-management found through the freedom the artistic and creative process can give. This experimental group has presented productions such as ''A Golden age'' written by Elena Poniatowska and ''Blood Wedding'' by Federico García Lorca.
