''The color crossroads on the way to Xibalbá'' Solidaridad

The plot of this presentation is the descent into the Mayan underworld of nine elderly ladies that dance and walk through the four roads of the sacred colors. In this slow paced procession, with symbolic implications, we start discovering the mysterious world of the Xibalbá.

For the ancient Maya, death was not a definite end to existence, the soul of the deceased journeyed to Xibalbá, the underworld. That other world was found in the entrails of the earth, under the jungle and beyond the masses of water. The road to the Xibalbá was long and full of obstacles and a crossroads could be found there with four different colors: red, yellow (or green), white and black, the colors of corn.
