Make a portrait of the young child who died, as it used to be done in old times, to help his relatives overcome their pain and to have a record that an angel used to live in the family . You wil take the place of the artist who used to paint the portrait of the young deceased dressed with a crown of flowers and a special embroidered attire, to begin the journey to heaven.

INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY: Music and farewell verses. by: Luis Ku

Come join us to make up verses and rhymes to bid farewell to the dearly departed, music and all! Visitors will hear the sound of a harp, like the music of angels, and make up verses like the ones mothers used to write as a farewell to their small dead child.

Learn to make paper flowers for the young departed! All children who died wore beautiful flower crowns and received wreaths in their wake, trying to emulate the way the virgin Mary was made ready for her way to heaven. Join us and watch how the white lilies become the wings of little angels!

PALM WEAVING WORKSHOP: Palms or crowns? by: Bernardo Ek & Playroom

In ancient times, a woven palm was given to little children so they could get into heaven. Do you want to learn how to weave one? An expert weaver will teach you to work the palm leaves like the ones young children got to wear in their funeral as a symbol of their passing into heaven, and will show you their value as craftworks.
